My flatmate and I were talking about education and politics (among other things) and he mentioned a book I should read: The Abolition of Man, by C. S. Lewis. “Is it easy to read ?” I asked.
It’s not really an easy read for this Hannah ! But I did find some cool quotes:
‘a hard heart is no infallible protection against a soft head’.
‘the heart never takes the place of the head: but it can, and should, obey it’.
‘in a sort of ghastly simplicity we remove the organ and demand the function. we make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise’.
